1. Operator and acceptance

Bookmark Cleaner is operated by ZHENG RUIPENG, an individual. By using the website, browser extension, or Pro features, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Contact support@bookmarkcleaner.com with legal or product questions.

2. What the service does

Bookmark Cleaner helps you import or scan browser bookmarks, review possible cleanup actions, create a backup, and export a cleaned bookmark file. It is a cleanup utility, not a hosted bookmark manager. Bookmark content is processed locally. The service never automatically deletes bookmarks or applies a removal without your explicit review.

3. Free and Pro v1

Free features cover the core import, duplicate review, manual decisions, backup, and export workflow. Pro v1 adds the features described on the current Pricing page, including advanced local analysis and extension-only Link Health tools. A Pro v1 purchase is a one-time license for Bookmark Cleaner Pro v1 on the Web and supported browser extensions, for up to three active browser installations. It is not a promise of future major versions, perpetual updates, uninterrupted availability, or every future feature.

4. Delivery and activation

A paid license is delivered electronically as an activation key after the server confirms a completed order. You are responsible for keeping that key private and copying it when shown. Founder invite licenses are limited, individual, non-transferable $0 licenses with no cash value. Keys may not be resold, published, shared between unrelated users, bypassed, or used to defeat installation limits.

5. Pricing, payment, and refunds

Displayed prices are in USD unless stated otherwise. Founder Access is $0 by invitation for the first 100 redeemed invites. Early Access is $9.99 for the first 100 completed paid licenses after Founder Access. The standard price is $19.99. Applicable tax and the final total are shown before payment. Public production checkout is not yet open. Waffo Pancake is being integrated as Merchant of Record for paid purchases and will handle payment collection, receipts, tax, and payment-side support. The Refund Policy forms part of these Terms.

6. Your safety responsibilities

You must review every proposed change, download and retain the generated backup, and confirm the exported file before replacing or importing bookmarks. You remain responsible for your browser data and for any decision to remove a bookmark. A refund or license change does not delete your local files, exports, backups, or bookmark data.

7. Link Health limitations

Link Health provides automated network signals, not a guarantee that a page is permanently healthy or broken. Login requirements, rate limits, bot protection, redirects, geographic restrictions, network failures, and temporary server errors can change results. HTTP status alone is not treated as proof in every case. Even a Confirmed Broken result requires your review before removal.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use Bookmark Cleaner to violate law, probe systems without permission, distribute malware, interfere with the service, evade access controls, or infringe another person's rights. Automated link checks must be used only for bookmarks you are entitled to review. We may suspend or revoke access to hosted license services for fraud, abuse, key resale, security attacks, or material violation of these Terms.

9. Intellectual property

Bookmark Cleaner and its original software, design, branding, and documentation are owned by the operator or licensed to the operator. These Terms grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership. Your bookmark files and their contents remain yours.

10. Availability and disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that every duplicate or broken link will be detected, that every classification will be correct, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing here excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or loss-of-data damages arising from use of the service. For any claim that may legally be limited, total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the affected Bookmark Cleaner license. These limits do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.

12. Changes and applicable rights

We may update these Terms as the product or law changes. Material changes will be identified by a new version and date and, where appropriate, a prominent notice. Mandatory consumer protections and the laws and courts that cannot be contractually excluded continue to apply. A specific governing-law clause will be added only after the operator's jurisdiction is finalized.
